WE DID IT!!!!!
WE ARE CHAMPIONS OF AFRICA for a record FIFTH TIME!!!! Oh.. I so wish I would be in the streets of Cairo now! This is the win that every Egyptian was waiting for. After disappointment of not qualifying to the World Cup Germany 2006, this is our only relief. Only if I weren't committed to my work, I would've been in Cairo tonight, celebrating along side 77 million Egyptians the historical win. You should see the looks on these people's faces after our national team was declared best in Africa. Better than $45-million Didier Drogba's Ivory Coast, better than $28-million Samuel Eto's Cameroon, and better than $17.5-million Jay Jay Okocha's Nigeria! Congratulations to all Egyptians every where; you needed this win! | | Monday, January 9th, 2006 | | 12:00 am |
2 WHY's
WHY.. 1- ... isn't there anything exciting any more? I mean I haven't tried "everything" in life, but nothing seems exciting any more! It's all the same, you get what you get out of it, and then you're back to where you are. I'm not passionate about anything; not coding, not learning new things, not even music! I'm very surprised and disappointed at myself at the same time. I just want to do something very crazy, maybe that will be exciting. How could this happen? What happened? I hope I find an answer soon. 2- ... does the Verrazano bridge's lights change to red at/after midnight? I've been trying to find out for many years. Why doesn't the Brooklyn bridge or other bridges do the same thing? I can't seem to find a reasonable answer except that the red lights on the Verrazano mean "Don't go to Staten Island at this hour, THERE'S NOTHING TO DO THERE!!" Back to our old ways...
What the heck is wrong with my internet connection? I get 131 Kbps down/ 330 Kbps Up!!!! I'm 2x the speed of Dial-UP!!!! I can't believe ..can't live with this. I just realized how quickly we get used to technology. 2 hours of 2x the speed of dial-up seem like hell. I called up TimeWarner cable and they said "there's nothing WRONG with their network". Yeah right, I just called my friend in Manhattan and he said his connection is solid at 4000 down/ 350 up! It's even too slow to chat effectively. Can't take it any longer, I'm just gonna go out and socialize the ancient way! Current Mood: aggravated | | Thursday, September 29th, 2005 | | 2:59 am |
In love !...
YES! I think I'm love!! We shared last night together from around 3 after midnight until the sun rose. I got to know everything about her, all of her bads and goods, and guess what? I loved it all! Her name? "DataList", sister of "DataGrid". You'll ask, how can you fall in love with a Visual Studio control???!!! I'll say, if you'll get to know her, you'll love her too! Let me illustrate: A datalist is basically just like a datagrid, except that its design is very flexible. In a datagrid, you can only have columns and rows where data can be displayed. In datalist, you can arrange any controls the way you want to, and just DataBind() its labels and textboxes to get the data from the database. The great thing about databinding is that you can bind ANY property of the control to a data field! For example, you can bind the ForeColor property to turn red when the number is negative, set the error's Visible property to false when there is no error, etc... the possibilities are endless! That's it!! With less than 20 lines of code, I was able to display data the way I wanted, and with amazing efficiency. Ahh.. I think I'm gonna stick with this one for a long time ;) Current Mood: nerdy | | Friday, September 23rd, 2005 | | 12:13 am |

RE: Good Day, Egypt! The official results came in.... Mubarak..........................88%!!!!!! Noor...................................7%
Come on people!!! Current Mood: sick | | Thursday, September 8th, 2005 | | 11:19 pm |
Good Day, Egypt! Wow... what a day for the nation of Egypt and Egyptians everywhere (including myself)! It's the first time in, let's see here.... around 7000 years, where the Egyptian people can choose their ruler!!!
Exciting to see the poll results, yeah? Hmmm... not really, guess who's winning. After counting about 60% of the votes, Mubarak (current president) seems to be winning by a really really good margin (he's got more than 70% of the votes!)
I started to think, could the elections be manipulated or did the Egyptians actually chose Mubarak for a FIFTH SIX-YEAR term. I think Egyptians looove Pharaohs (monarchies in general). There is something inside every Egyptian that says .. "you should have one ruler that you love (or not) for the rest of your life, and maybe your children's too!!" Or, is it because we(Egyptians) have never ever before experienced "democracy" as we know it today? The whole concept is new to us that when it comes to choosing our president, we go with our famous proverb: "What you know is better than what you don't know"! I disagree with that, but what can I do?! This proverb is used in our everyday language, and it's a part of all Egyptians' lives.
The miserable thing now is that Egyptians will think that Mubarak won the elections, because he's such a GREAT leader, because of all of the GREAT accomplishments that Egypt was blessed with during his presidency, and and and..... all the other B.S. they say about him in Government-owned Egyptian TV stations.
So here we go Egypt (and Egyptians), another SIX YEARS of "accomplishments" and "prosperity" for all you living there!
I'm not saying that the guy is bad, but COME ON.... it's EGYPT! WE COULD BE DOING MUCH BETTER BY NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Current Mood: Those tonsils! | | 3:47 am |
